林延平教授，1982年在東北大學獲得學士學位，1988年美國華盛頓州立大學獲得博士學位。歷任加拿大阿爾伯特大學終身教授，香港理工大學應用數(shù)學系教授、副主任，主要研究興趣為偏微分方程和科學計算，擔任Discrete and continuous dynamical Systems, Series B，Dynamics of Continuous, Discrete and Impulsive Systems, Series B，Advances in Numerical Analysis和International Journal of Numerical Analysis and Modeling期刊的副主編或創(chuàng)刊人，在國際計算數(shù)學權威期刊SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis、SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis等期刊上發(fā)表若干學術論文。
